Here we would like to give you a short impression of the development and history of the Hotel Alpenpanorama. Starting very small, a hotel came into being over the course of 25 years, which now meets all the requirements for being a modern touristic business.
We are pleased to give you a brief insight into the origin and history of Hotel Alpenpanorama. Since its founding in 1966, the hotel has evolved from humble beginnings into a modern tourism business that meets all today's requirements.
It all began in 1966. At that time, Georg and Philomena Hofer set up a few private rooms in their small home. Success was not long in coming. Philomena Hofer, in particular, was the good spirit of the house and laid the foundation for further success with her foresight and warm hospitality. Just six years later, the house had become too small due to the numerous loyal guests.
In 1972, expansion followed. The modest house was extended, and an annex created space for more rooms. Thus, the Hofer Bed and Breakfast was born. Their son Georg trained as a chef and impressed with his diligence by also completing training as a pastry chef. After his military service, Georg even passed the concession exam and then the master pastry chef exam.
In 1990, a rather unusual construction project began. The well-preserved building fabric of the guesthouse was integrated into a new building. Since then, Hotel Alpenpanorama has presented itself as a true gem in a magnificent location, living up to its name.
In 1991, Georg and his wife Margreth jointly took over the hotel. In 2004, the hotel was expanded to include an underground garage and a wellness area. In 2012, Alpen Apart Hofer was built, followed by the renovation of the hiking and skier suites in 2014. In 2017, Alpen Residenz Hofer was built, and in 2019, all panoramic rooms were newly renovated. In 2020, a new natural bio pool with a garden area was created. Their son Georg Hofer Jr. joined the business in 2010 and took over the kitchen operations a few years ago, while their son Stefan Hofer joined the service area in 2016.
